About this author:
Christine and her husband coach a little league baseball team. She loves camping, fishing, swimming, and too many other things to list.  While she writes a lot of romance in her books, romance movies aren't really her thing. She likes to watch the action thrillers, scary movies, and anything suspense. She loves to read a good historical romance! Also, she is completely fascinated by all things pirate.
The thing Christine loves the most, outside of writing and her family, is making people laugh. People come and go from our lives, influencing and changing us in all kinds of ways.  Sometimes the influences are positive, but then again, some are negative.  If we use the negative as a tool for learning, we could very well change or even save someone's life down the road.  She strives to be the type of person that touches someone’s life in a positive way, even if it is by writing a book. She believes that if only a quarter of the people in the world would loosen up and smile, it would be a better place.
If she could share one message with the world, it would be that nothing is impossible and you should never stop following your dreams.

A little more about the author:

What inspired you to write your first book?
Goodness, I can't answer that honestly.  I have always been a stickler for the historical romance. . . pirate ones I love the most... but the misunderstood cowboy and the school marm... I've only recently started with paranormal, however, my love will always stay with the historical.  I have several of those written.

How did you come up with the title?

Originally, the title was The Chosen Series: Fallen, but after long discussion and brain storming we decided that Risen would be better suited.  One of the key factors being that there are several other books on the market under that title already.  I wanted mine to stand on its own and be known for something entirely different.
Is there a message in your novel that you want readers to grasp?

Don't be afraid of Destiny.  It may scare the bejeepers out of ya but grasp it fully and hang on tight.  It may be a rough ride with a lot of ups and downs but in the long run it will be worth it.
Can you share a little of your current work with us?

OK.... THIS IS AN EXCLUSIVE FIRST GLIMPSE INSIDE OF The Chosen Chronicles: Bloodlines.

The air became filled with fog, but as they got closer, the fog turned into a suffocating smoke.  Erin folded her wings and slipped beneath the smoke bank, but then the girls saw the source of the glow.

“Oh no,” Angie gasped.  Her heart slammed against her the back of her lungs, focing the air from her body.  A ball of fire engulf the entire island, their island.

“No,” Erin sobbed.

“We’ve got to go down there.  We’ve got to find them,” Angie said as she began to struggle.

Erin tightened her grip around her.  “We can’t do that, Ang, and you know it.  We can’t go down there.  If the fire doesn’t kill us, who or what ever started it will.”

Angie felt tears stinging the back of her eyes, but she refused to shed them in front of Erin.  It was time to be tough, not whining like a child.  So, instead of focusing on her pain, she focused on her anger.

“I’ll circle around to see if we can see anything, but we’re not going down there,” Erin said firmly.

As they flew several thousand feet above the island, the heat from the flames warmed them.

“Can you see anything?”  Erin asked.

Angie’s eyes scanned the burning terrain, then came to rest on the center of the island where the house had once been secluded by a thick copse of trees.  The canopy had burned away, revealing the smoldering remains of their home.

“I don’t see anything.  The house is gone.”

“We need to get out of here,” Erin said.  “I don’t like being out in the open like this.  It feels like we’re being watched.”

“We need to find a place rest.”

“I think I know where we can go, but I can’t fly us there.  We’re going to have to transport.”  The spot on Erin’s back, where her wings were attached, was beginning to burn, like she’d been lifting weights for five hours nonstop.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I’ve just not gotten used to flying.”

“This place we are going, is it safe?”

“I hope so, because we are running out of options.”

“I'm going to need your help.  I'm not sure I have enough strength to get us there.”

“Sure,” Angie said easily.

“This is going to get tricky.”

“Let's do it.”

“Hang on,” Erin said as she folded her wings against her back.  The girls stopped moving forward and began falling.

Erin closed her eyes and felt Angie's energy quickly blanket her, strengthening her own.  Behind her eyelids she could see the bright orange of the fire getting brighter.  The heat of the fire getting more intense.  The colors began to swirl and twist as electrical currents rippled over her body.  She could feel their bodies being pulled, much like the hose of a vacuum being put over someone's skin.  The heat of the fire rushed up to meet them and then there was nothing.
